        "content": "<p>Former English players to train local youths<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Four former England soccer players will train<br>\nyoung Indonesian players at the Coca Cola International Football<br>\nSchool, an official said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The players are Alan Kennedy, Clive Walker, David Johnson and<br>\nDavid Fairclough.<\/p>\n<p>They have played for English premier soccer clubs Newcastle<br>\nUnited, Liverpool, Chelsea, Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers,<br>\nIpswich and Manchester United.<\/p>\n<p>PT Bakri Pesona Rasuna's (BPR) Nugraha, who is secretary of<br>\nthe Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI), said yesterday the<br>\nschool aimed to develop soccer in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will concentrate on training children between 10 and 16<br>\nyears of age. The school is temporary and only for 11 days. We<br>\nexpect to get at least 600 children,\" Nugraha said.<\/p>\n<p>The school will be set up from June 16 to June 27 and be<br>\ncoordinated by BPR with its main sponsor Coca Cola.<\/p>\n<p>BPR will be assisted by the PSSI's Jakarta chapter, the<br>\nJakarta administration, the Ministry of Education and Culture and<br>\nthe Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.<\/p>\n<p>The English coaches will be assisted by 12 coaches from Pelita<br>\nBakries and administrative and health officials<\/p>\n<p>The school will be at the South Jakarta Soemantri Brodjonegoro<br>\nstadium.<\/p>\n<p>The training is divided into two five-day sessions.<\/p>\n<p>The first session will focus on skills like passing,<br>\ndribbling, shooting, juggling control tests, lofted passes and<br>\nheading.<\/p>\n<p>The second session will be more theoretical.<\/p>\n<p>Children between 10 and 16 years old are welcome to take part.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will accept as many children as possible who are<br>\ninterested in soccer. We will train them to become good players.\"<\/p>\n<p>Nugraha said although it was a temporary school, BSP expected<br>\nother schools to be set up.<\/p>\n<p>\"We hope other firms have the initiative to set up similar<br>\nsoccer schools. We will assist them if needed.\"<\/p>\n<p>PT Coca Cola's director, John Brady, said the purpose of the<br>\nCoca Cola International Football School was to give youngsters an<br>\nopportunity to improve their soccer skills.<\/p>\n<p>\"We expect participants to get many benefits and advantages<br>\nfor their future through this school. We hope to develop<br>\ninternational caliber players through the school,\" Brady said.<\/p>\n<p>He said his company would help improve soccer in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have been sponsoring both national international events<br>\nincluding the World Cup in France next year and World Youth Cup<br>\nin Malaysia this year, and the Coca Cola Cup here for the past 10<br>\nyears,\" he said.
