MS is the perpetrator of a series of\nburglaries targeting dozens of modern retail outlets across Lombok.<\/p>\n<p>North Lombok Police Chief AKBP Agus Purwanto stated that MS was\napprehended in the Lingsar area. The suspect attempted to escape by\nclimbing onto the roof of a resident\u2019s house to evade the pursuing\nofficers. \u201cDuring the arrest, the perpetrator tried to flee by climbing\nonto a resident\u2019s roof. However, he was chased down and successfully\ndetained,\u201d Agus said on Friday (3\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>MS was arrested in the early hours of Friday. He is a former employee\nof the networked modern retail chain, having worked in the maintenance\ndepartment. Consequently, he possessed a thorough understanding of the\nstores\u2019 operational procedures and exploited this knowledge to commit\nthe crimes dozens of times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreliminary investigations have revealed that the suspect is\nbelieved to have carried out similar actions at 22 locations spread\nacross North Lombok, West Lombok, East Lombok, Central Lombok, and\nMataram City,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect\u2019s most recent crime occurred in Kayangan Village,\nKayangan District, North Lombok, on Wednesday (1\/7\/2026). Employees\nopening the store discovered that the cigarette display was empty, a\nshelf containing facial care products had collapsed, and Rp 200,000 in\ncash was missing from the till. \u201cThe total loss is estimated to have\nreached Rp 30 million,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to the suspect\u2019s confession, some of the stolen goods had\nalready been sold. Following further investigation, police detained two\nreceivers of the stolen goods, identified by the initials M and RA.<\/p>\n<p>Officers also seized a number of items as evidence, including a\nmotorcycle, a set of keys, a tablet torch, Rp 260,000 in cash, three\nboxes of various cigarette brands, dozens of perfume bottles, facial\nwash, vehicle accessories, clothing believed to have been worn during\nthe crimes, and a white sack. \u201cThere were also 91 sheets of Rp 10,000\nstamp duty,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>MS and the two receivers are currently being held at the North Lombok\nPolice station along with the secured evidence. \u201cThe investigation is\nongoing to uncover the possibility of other crime scenes or the\ninvolvement of additional individuals,\u201d he stated.<\/p>",
