        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com \u2013 The remains of former Defence Minister\nRyamizard Ryacudu were transported to Kalibata Heroes\u2019 Cemetery\nfollowing a ceremonial service at the Ministry of Defence in Central\nJakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremonial service for the late Ryamizard began at 11:04 WIB in\nfront of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (BTI) Hall building. Deputy Minister\nof Defence Donny Ermawan Taufanto served as the ceremony inspector,\naccompanied by Ryamizard\u2019s family members. The proceedings proceeded\norderly, solemnly, and in accordance with military ceremonial\nprotocols.<\/p>\n<p>An ambulance carrying Ryamizard\u2019s coffin departed for Kalibata\nHeroes\u2019 Cemetery at approximately 11:20 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>Ryamizard Ryacudu was born in Palembang, South Sumatra, on 12 April\n1950. He graduated from the Military Academy (Akmil) in 1974 with an\ninfantry specialty. Throughout his life, Ryamizard dedicated himself to\nserving the nation through various strategic assignments within the\nmilitary and government, with unwavering loyalty, dedication, and a\nstrong spirit of service.<\/p>\n<p>His highest service in the Army was marked by his appointment as\nChief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) from 2002 to 2005. Under\nhis leadership, the Army continued to strengthen professionalism,\ndiscipline, and unit readiness in safeguarding national sovereignty and\nthe integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The four-star retired general later served as Defence Minister during\nPresident Joko Widodo\u2019s first term from 2014 to 2019. The Army expressed\nprayers that Ryamizard may find a place of honour with God, be forgiven\nfor all faults and sins, and that his family be granted strength,\nresilience, and acceptance in this time of loss.<\/p>",
