        "content": "<p>TY, a former employee of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) in West\nJava who filed a report of suspected corruption at Baznas West Java, has\ncalled on Governor Dedi Mulyadi to intervene and investigate the\norganisation. He notes that the leadership and membership of Baznas West\nJava are appointed and selected by the governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe leadership of Baznas West Java is selected and appointed by the\ngovernor, please Governor Dedi could pay attention to this,\u201d he said\nafter undergoing questioning at the West Java High Prosecutor\u2019s Office\nrecently.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that his complaint to the West Java High Prosecutor\u2019s\nOffice concerns financial report data from Baznas West Java for 2021 to\n2023 that has been made public. According to the documents, zakat funds\nintended for fisabilillah (charitable purposes) were used for\ninstitutional operational costs totalling 9.8 billion rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>However, he noted that Baznas West Java had already received\nadministrative rights (hak Amil) amounting to 12.5 per cent of the total\nzakat funds collected. Additionally, he also reported suspected\nmisappropriation of COVID-19 funds totalling 3.5 billion rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, TY\u2019s legal representative from the Bandung Legal Aid\nFoundation (LBH Bandung), Andi Daffa Patiroi, stated that his client was\nquestioned by the prosecutor\u2019s office regarding the alleged corruption\ncase at Baznas West Java. He indicated that the prosecutor\u2019s office was\nconducting an in-depth investigation into the report.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo the prosecutor\u2019s office is indeed conducting an in-depth\nexamination of the substance of the report filed by Pak Tri,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>",
