Semarang (ANTARA) - Supriyatno, the former Director General of Bank\nJateng and defendant in the alleged corruption case regarding the\nprovision of credit facilities to PT Sritex, stated that he was not\nguilty in the criminal act that harmed the state finances by hundreds of\nbillions of rupiah.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I am certain of is that I did something right,\u201d said Supriyatno\nin response to questions from Chief Judge Rommel Franciskus Tampubolon\nduring the trial at the Corruption Court at the Semarang District Court\non Monday, with the agenda of examining the defendant.<\/p>\n
According to him, the decisions he made in granting the loan to PT\nSritex were based on good faith and without any conflict of\ninterest.<\/p>\n
He stated that the condition experienced by PT Sritex would occur if\nit indeed faced payment default.<\/p>\n
During the examination, the defendant Supriyatno explained the\nmechanism of the loan application by PT Sritex, from the request to the\ndisbursement.<\/p>\n
Supriyatno also answered about the mechanism of granting the loan\nfrom stage 1 to 4.<\/p>\n
Due to the approval of the credit deemed to have led to problems, the\ndefendant was assessed to have violated the principle of prudence.<\/p>\n
In the alleged corruption case of granting credit to PT Sritex,\nSupriyatno\u2019s actions resulted in state financial losses of Rp502\nbillion.<\/p>\n
After the defendant\u2019s examination, Chief Judge Rommel Franciskus\nTampubolon gave the public prosecutor the opportunity to present demands\nat the upcoming trial.<\/p>\n
Rommel reminded the defendant and related parties in this case not to\ncontact the judge or court clerks.<\/p>\n
