        "content": "<p>Forestry workshop opens<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Association of Forestry<br>\nEntrepreneurs, in conjunction with the British-Indonesia Tropical<br>\nManagement Project's Overseas Development Agency, launched a<br>\nfour-day forestry training workshop yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Forestry Djamaludin Suryohadikusumo said in a<br>\nwritten address at the commencement of the workshop that such<br>\ntraining was necessary to improve the quality of human resources<br>\ninvolved in sustainable forestry development.<\/p>\n<p>Ministry of Forestry Secretary-General Oetomo S. said that<br>\ncurrently 33,145 people were employed by the government's<br>\nforestry offices and state-owned forestry firms across the<br>\ncountry, of whom 15.5 percent had only elementary school<br>\neducation, 11 percent had junior high school education, 60.8<br>\npercent had graduated from senior high school or forestry<br>\ncolleges and 12.5 percent were university graduates.<\/p>\n<p>Private-sector forestry companies employed more than 79,000<br>\npeople, he said.(pwn)<\/p>",
