According to a statement received in\nJakarta on Monday, Head of the Sustainable Forest Management Centre\nRegion IV of the Ministry of Forestry, Andi Rohaendi, said the synergy\nwas forged during a Coordination Meeting on Forest and Land Fire\nPreparedness. The meeting implemented directives from President Prabowo\nSubianto to safeguard forest and environmental sustainability as a\nfoundation for national development, and from Minister of Forestry Raja\nJuli Antoni to strengthen the forest and land fire prevention and\npreparedness system across all regions of Indonesia. \u201cThrough this Zero\nKarhutla commitment, we hope all PBPH holders can consistently carry out\ntheir responsibilities to prevent forest and land fires in Jambi\nProvince,\u201d said Andi Rohaendi. He noted the coordination meeting was\nattended by PBPH holders and representatives of Forest Management Units\nin Jambi. The involvement of KPH is a crucial element as they play a\nstrategic role as area managers in strengthening coordination, area\nmonitoring, early detection, and initial response at the site level. On\nthe occasion, the Head of the Sultan Thaha Jambi Class I Meteorological\nStation, Ibnu Sulistyono, conveyed that weather and climate information\nmust be utilised as a basis for conducting patrols and enhancing field\npreparedness. Meanwhile, the Head of Emergency and Logistics at the\nJambi Provincial Disaster Management Agency, Andre Eko Rinjani, stated\nthat handling forest and land fires requires responsive, swift, precise,\nand integrated coordination, as well as support from all relevant\nelements. PBPH holders were also encouraged to ensure the readiness of\ntheir organisations, human resources, fire control facilities and\ninfrastructure, communication systems, integrated patrols, and to\nstrengthen coordination with KPH, local governments, communities, and\nother related parties. Furthermore, KPH are expected to further optimise\ntheir field monitoring functions, facilitate cross-party coordination,\nand support rapid response if hotspots or fire indications are detected\nin their managed areas.
