This operational reinforcement is commanded by the Sumatra Forest\nFire Control Centre (Balai Dalkarhut Sumatra) under the Directorate\nGeneral of Forestry Law Enforcement. Field personnel are focused on\nthree primary actions: early suppression, cooling down, and intensive\nprevention patrols.<\/p>\n
The Director General of Forestry Law Enforcement, Dwi Januanto\nNugroho, emphasised that Manggala Agni serves as the frontline force,\nworking alongside the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the\nTNI (Military), the Polri (Police), and the community. However, he\nwarned that suppression alone is insufficient without collective\nawareness.<\/p>\n
\u201cForest fire prevention cannot rely solely on firefighting officers.\nThe key remains shared vigilance, avoiding land clearing with fire, and\nimmediately reporting signs of fire at an early stage,\u201d said Dwi, as\nquoted on Friday (5\/6).<\/p>\n
In Aceh Province, fires were observed in Kayee Unou and Babah Lueng\nvillages, Nagan Raya Regency. Manggala Agni personnel from Daops Sumatra\nI Sibollangit have been deployed to conduct firefighting in difficult\npeatland terrain alongside local joint teams.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in Riau, fire hotspots have expanded to four locations,\nincluding Siak, Rokan Hilir, and Pelalawan regencies, as well as a new\npoint on Rupat Island, Bengkalis Regency. To accelerate handling on\nRupat Island, the Sumatra Forest Fire Control Centre is mobilising\npersonnel from various operational areas, including Pekanbaru, Jambi\nCity, and Muara Tebo.<\/p>\n
Positive reports have emerged from Jambi and South Sumatra. In\nBatanghari Regency, Jambi, teams successfully extinguished fires in\nDurian Luncuk village on Tuesday (2\/6). On the same day, Manggala Agni\nDaops XIV Banyuasin, supported by water bombing helicopters,\nsuccessfully completed firefighting efforts in Ogan Ilir, South\nSumatra.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Sumatra Forest Fire Control Centre, Ferdian\nKrisnanto, stated that the strategy of cross-operational area assistance\nis crucial to ensure field personnel do not suffer from exhaustion and\nreceive adequate support.<\/p>\n
