The Minister of Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni, has reaffirmed the full\nsupport of the Ministry of Forestry (Kemenhut) for the Corruption\nEradication Commission\u2019s (KPK) efforts to investigate alleged criminal\nacts of corruption involving the Regent of Kuantan Singingi\n(Kuansing).<\/p>\n
In a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (2\/7), the Minister committed\nto supporting the law enforcement process to ensure that forestry\ngovernance operates transparently, accountably, and free from corrupt\npractices.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirstly, I have read news that the KPK has named the Regent of\nKuansing as a suspect. I read regarding the trading of positions, and\nthere is further development regarding the process of releasing forest\nareas in Kuansing,\u201d said Raja Antoni.<\/p>\n
Raja Antoni expressed his appreciation to the KPK for its consistent\nperformance in anti-corruption duties. He emphasised that this step\naligns with the instructions from President Prabowo Subianto to all\ncabinet members.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe order from President Prabowo Subianto is clear: all ministers,\nincluding myself as the Minister of Forestry, must continue to implement\nimprovements in forest governance\u2014ensuring it is transparent,\naccountable, and free from bribery and corruption,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
He ensured that the Ministry of Forestry will remain open to the\nentire investigation process. Raja Antoni stated his readiness, along\nwith his entire staff, to assist investigators, whether through\nproviding documents or giving testimony if required.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will be cooperative from the ministry side. If there are\ndocuments needed, or if we are summoned\u2014if I am summoned\u2014God willing, we\nwill comply, because once again, this is in the framework of eradicating\ncorruption and improving our forestry sector,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Forestry reaffirmed that this commitment is an effort\nto strengthen the forestry sector to become more professional and high\nin integrity. He guaranteed that the Ministry would respect all ongoing\nlegal processes without obstructing the investigators\u2019 work.<\/p>\n
\u201cI emphasise once again that we appreciate the KPK\u2019s work; we fully\nsupport them and will be cooperative in all legal processes,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) in Kuantan\nSingingi and Jakarta on 30 June 2026, detaining 10 individuals. On 1\nJuly 2026, the KPK officially named the Regent of Kuansing, Suhardiman\nAmby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal\nConsultant, Ardiles, as suspects in a case involving alleged bribery\nrelated to the trading of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency\nGovernment.<\/p>\n
