        "content": "<p>Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni has affirmed that the\ngovernment will continue to improve the national carbon trading\necosystem on a sustainable basis.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, the Minister assessed that\nIndonesia possesses enormous carbon potential, but it has yet to develop\noptimally because it has been constrained by an inappropriate way of\nthinking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am committed to continuously improving our carbon trading\necosystem. Because we understand its potential is very large, but it has\nso far stalled because of differing perspectives, meaning such enormous\npotential has been very slow to be realised,\u201d said Minister Raja\nAntoni.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the government has issued Presidential Regulation\nNumber 110 of 2025 on the Economic Value of Carbon, subsequently\nfollowed by Minister of Forestry Regulation Number 6 of 2026 as the\ntechnical rules for the forestry sector.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to strengthening regulation, the Ministry of Forestry has\nalso begun opening up opportunities for carbon trading in conservation\nareas.<\/p>\n<p>One pilot project is currently being developed in Way Kambas National\nPark, alongside the formation of the National Park Funding Innovation\nTask Force to encourage more innovative conservation financing schemes\nthrough a blended finance approach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope these various new approaches, including carbon trading in\nnational parks, can strengthen forest governance towards a carbon market\nwith high integrity and high quality,\u201d said Raja Antoni.<\/p>",
