The<br>\nPresident wishes to get rid of the remnants of the colonial<br>\ninfluence, including the abolishment of the usage of foreign<br>\nwords for names of shops, products, and also some related<br>\ninstitutions, and change them all into Bahasa Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Names like Ciputra Group, Lippo Bank and President Hotel,<br>\nshould be changed into the Indonesian language to reflect higher<br>\nnationalism. The use of our national heroes like Gajah Mada,<br>\nHayam Wuruk and others for names of plazas, amusement centers has<br>\nalso invited controversy.<\/p>\n<p>As a sovereign country we should uphold the values of the<br>\nYouth Pledge declared on Oct. 28. We do not want colonialism to<br>\ndominate again, including the usage of language.<\/p>\n<p>However, I am still concerned about the existence of foreign<br>\nterminologies in government and non-governmental institutions<br>\nlike: Centre for Strategic and International Studies, Center for<br>\nPolicy Studies, Center for Information and Development Studies,<br>\nand many other names of bureaus, courses and educational<br>\nagencies.
