        "content": "<p>Indonesia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has assured that the\nIranian government has responded positively to the Indonesian\ngovernment\u2019s request for two Pertamina tankers still held in the Strait\nof Hormuz to pass safely.<\/p>\n<p>According to RI Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A Mulachela,\nhis side, together with the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, has been\nconducting intensive coordination with all relevant parties in Iran\nsince the beginning for the safety of the tankers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn its development, there has been a positive response from the\nIranian side,\u201d Nabyl said in response to Antara\u2019s questions regarding\nthe progress of negotiations for the Pertamina tankers in Jakarta on\nFriday (27\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Following the positive response conveyed by Tehran, follow-up steps\nhave been carried out by the relevant parties on technical and\noperational aspects, Nabyl said, although no definite time has been\ngiven for when the tankers can exit the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, on 4 March, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources\n(ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the government was conducting a\nnegotiation approach to free two tankers owned by PT Pertamina\nInternational Shipping (PIS) that were still in the Strait of\nHormuz.<\/p>\n<p>However, Bahlil assured that the two tankers trapped in the Strait of\nHormuz do not disrupt Indonesia\u2019s energy security, as Indonesia quickly\nsought alternative energy procurement from other countries.<\/p>\n<p>RI\u2019s Director General for Asia Pacific and Africa at the Foreign\nMinistry, Santo Darmosumarto, on 6 March said that the RI government\ncontinues to enhance coordination and communication efforts with the\nIranian government to ensure the safety of the two Pertamina\ntankers.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi recently stated\nthat his country allows ships from \u201cfriendly countries\u201d to cross the\nStrait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, ships from the United States, Israel, and\n\u201caggressor countries\u201d remain prohibited from passing.<\/p>",
