Foreign Minister (Menlu) of Indonesia Sugiono has revealed that an\nattack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) on Sunday\n(29\/3) injured three Indonesian personnel. One of them was seriously\ninjured.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are three colleagues who are injured, one with severe injuries\nand currently in a coma, and two with minor injuries,\u201d Sugiono said in a\npress statement during his visit to Tokyo on Monday (30\/3), according to\nan audio recording received in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, Sugiono assured that Indonesia\u2019s Permanent\nRepresentative to the UN in New York will soon meet with senior UN\nofficials handling peacekeeping operations.<\/p>\n
In that meeting, the Indonesian representative will discuss\ncompensation for the fallen TNI personnel and convey demands for UNIFIL\nto investigate the incident.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are requesting a full investigation from UNIFIL to identify the\nsource of this incident,\u201d Sugiono stated.<\/p>\n
He also expressed the highest respect for the Indonesian personnel\nwho died in the line of duty, especially while carrying out a vital\nhumanitarian mission for peace and human survival.<\/p>\n
According to confirmation from the Head of the TNI Information Centre\n(Kapuspen) at TNI Headquarters, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah,\nthe Garuda contingent member who died in the Sunday attack was Praka\nFarizal Rhomadhon.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the three injured personnel are Praka Rico Pramudia, who\nsuffered severe injuries leading to a coma, and Praka Bayu Prakoso and\nPraka Arif Kurniawan, who sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n
Praka Rico, who has severe injuries, has been evacuated to St.\u00a0George\nHospital in Beirut for intensive care. The two soldiers with minor\ninjuries are receiving treatment at UNIFIL\u2019s Level I Hospital.<\/p>\n
He explained that they were injured after the Indonesian contingent\u2019s\nduty post in the town of Adshit Al-Qusyar in southern Lebanon was hit by\nartillery fire.<\/p>\n
Despite the incident affecting TNI personnel in UNIFIL, Aulia assured\nthat they will continue to carry out the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon\nprofessionally.<\/p>\n
