Jakarta \u2014 Indonesia\u2019s Foreign Minister Sugiono has called for the\nmomentum of shared fellowship during this Ramadan to cultivate a spirit\nof peace amidst an uncertain global situation and escalating conflicts\nin various countries.<\/p>\n
At an iftar (breaking of fast) gathering with ambassadors of allied\nnations as well as national and international figures in Jakarta, the\nForeign Minister stated that for Muslims, Ramadan is a time for\nreflection, compassion, and fostering fellowship through important\noccasions such as shared iftar meals.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe gather here to celebrate the spirit of togetherness, to share our\nvision of an ideal and beautiful world as we aspire to it,\u201d Sugiono said\nin his remarks at the iftar event titled \u201cPejambon Iftar\u201d hosted by\nIndonesia\u2019s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The shared iftar meal, he noted, is a moment when daily activities\npause briefly to share food, converse, and nurture a sense of\ntogetherness.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Minister stated that this spirit of togetherness must\ncontinually be nurtured amidst an increasingly dynamic international\nsituation that is \u201cdifficult for all of us\u201d.<\/p>\n
He appreciated the presence of ambassadors from allied nations at the\nshared iftar, which demonstrated the continued vitality of solidarity,\nfriendship, and mutual respect.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also hope that through the virtue of world leaders, the tensions\noccurring can subside and we can enjoy a better future together,\u201d\nSugiono added.<\/p>\n
The iftar agenda was attended by Deputy Foreign Ministers Arrmanatha\nNasir, Anis Matta, and Arif Havas Oegroseno, representatives from\nCommission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, as well as the\nRector of the International Islamic University of Indonesia (UIII),\nProfessor Jamhari Makruf, who delivered a brief sermon before breaking\nthe fast.<\/p>\n
