Despite recording a net sell of Rp3.38 trillion over the week, foreign investors selectively accumulated several Indonesian stocks, led by Pacific Strategic Financial. The Jakarta Composite Index managed a slight gain, though market breadth remained weak with more decliners than advancers. The index's rise was primarily supported by a surge in trading activity and gains in specific large-cap stocks.

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Despite recording a net sell of Rp3.38
trillion during the trading period of 20-24 July 2026, foreign investors
continued to accumulate a number of shares. Based on trading data, PT
Pacific Strategic Financial Tbk (APIC) was the stock with the largest
net foreign buy value for the week, reaching Rp295.7 billion. The
transactions were conducted through the negotiation market. The next
position was occupied by PT VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas Tbk (VKTR) at
Rp290.5 billion, followed by PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) valued at
Rp209.3 billion. Meanwhile, PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (ANTM)
recorded a foreign net buy of Rp100 billion, followed by PT Petrosea Tbk
(PTRO) at Rp95.1 billion, PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA) at Rp87.8
billion, PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) at Rp67 billion, PT
Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF) at Rp60 billion, PT Indofood CBP
Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) at Rp57.4 billion, and PT Gudang Garam Tbk
(GGRM) at Rp56.5 billion. Amid this selective buying, foreign investors
overall still recorded a net sell of Rp3.38 trillion in the regular
market during the week, reversing from a net buy position of Rp442.05
billion the previous week. The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) still
managed to strengthen by 0.34% to a level of 6,196.43 at the end of the
week. The increase was supported by heightened trading activity, with
the average daily transaction value soaring 41.21% to Rp19.76 trillion,
while the average daily transaction volume rose 66.88% to 43.68 billion
shares. However, behind the IHSG’s slight 0.34% gain during the week of
20-24 July 2026, market conditions were not yet fully solid. According
to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), 385 listed companies
declined in number, more than the 351 stocks that advanced, while 229
stocks closed unchanged. Viewed by market capitalisation, approximately
54% of market capitalisation came from stocks that corrected, while
advancing stocks represented only 40%. This condition indicates that the
IHSG’s rise was largely supported by gains in a select number of shares,
while selling pressure persisted on the majority of stocks, particularly
large-capitalisation shares.
",
