'Forbes' may publish Indonesian edition<\/p>\n
Forbes magazine, an American business and financial magazine
\nfounded in 1917 by BC Forbes, is exploring the possibility of
\npublishing an Indonesian-language edition here.<\/p>\n
Malcolm Stevenson \"Steve\" Forbes Jr., Forbes editor-in-chief,
\npresident and chief executive officer of its publisher, Forbes
\nInc., said on Tuesday that he saw no reasons for the magazine not
\nto expand into Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\"We are looking forward to having an Indonesian edition of
\nForbes magazine. We already have a number of local language
\neditions in China, Korea, Japan, Russia, Poland and Turkey,\" he
\nsaid after a meeting with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at
\nthe presidential office.<\/p>\n
He did not elaborate on any expansion plan.<\/p>\n
Headquartered at Fifth Avenue in New York City, Forbes
\nmagazine has generated several spinoff products, including Forbes
\nFYI, Forbes Asia, Forbes.Com, history magazines American Heritage
\nand American Heritage of Invention & Technology and American
\nLegacy.<\/p>\n
Regarding the meeting with President Susilo, Forbes said that
\nit was basically aimed at seeking firsthand information on
\nconditions in Indonesia, specifically on the country's current
\nstate of the economy, bureaucracy and legal reform.<\/p>\n
\"The purpose of our meeting is to get firsthand information on
\nhow the President sees the future of Indonesia, not just from
\nreading,\" said Forbes, who was a candidate in the U.S.
\npresidential primaries in 1996 and 2000. -- JP<\/p>",
