The Jakarta Post<br>\ntalked to residents about what the country can learn from the<br>\ncalamity.<\/p>\n<p>Amanda, 25, works at a private company in Jl. Thamrin, Central<br>\nJakarta. She lives in the Bintaro Jaya housing complex,<br>\nTangerang:<\/p>\n<p>The devastating tragedy in Aceh province is a time for all<br>\nIndonesians to show their solidarity. I feel touched seeing<br>\nenthusiasm from all corners to make their contribution to help<br>\nthe people of Aceh.<\/p>\n<p>I hope the incident will become a lesson for all warring<br>\nparties in Aceh that they should end the misery of the Aceh<br>\npeople.<\/p>\n<p>Safril, 32, is a shop attendant in Kota, West Jakarta. He<br>\nlives in Cisauk subdistrict, Tangerang.<\/p>\n<p>Each of us may feel differently about the earthquake and tidal<br>\nwaves that have swept Aceh province and many other countries.<\/p>\n<p>For those who believe in God, the incident is a warning. But<br>\nfor non-believers, it is merely a natural phenomenon.<\/p>\n<p>But Indonesians, who claim to be religious people, must<br>\nconsider the possibility that the disaster is a warning from God,<br>\nbecause we have ignored Him.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, we must improve the quality of the lives we lead.<br>\nWe must not challenge God because He can do whatever He wants to<br>\nus.
