The Food Brigade, consisting of millennial farmers mentored by the\nMinistry of Agriculture, is accelerating rice planting on 500 hectares\nof land in Anjir Pasar Village, Jejangkit District, Barito Kuala\nRegency, South Kalimantan. This effort is part of a national\nsimultaneous planting programme covering 52,000 hectares of CSR and\nOplah land.<\/p>\n
Barito Kuala Regent Bahrul Ilmi stated that the Food Brigade plays a\nstrategic role in accelerating planting and boosting the morale of local\nfarmers. He noted that the brigade not only assists with cultivation\noperations but also serves as an example of good, orderly, and modern\nagricultural practices for other farmers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe presence of the Food Brigade can become a driving force for\nmodern agriculture,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Regent also mentioned that the support of agricultural machinery\nfrom the Ministry of Agriculture encourages farmers to increase\nproductivity and makes the agricultural sector a source of pride and\nself-esteem for the people of South Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
Bahrul added that Barito Kuala Regency, as one of South Kalimantan\u2019s\nfood barns, continues to be a pilot area for modern agricultural\ndevelopment for other regencies. He expressed hope that supporting\nagricultural infrastructure needs can be realised, including the\nconstruction of a water control gate to support a second planting season\nand the building of farm roads to ease farmers\u2019 access to their\nland.<\/p>\n
\u201cInfrastructure support will boost the planting index so that\nJejangkit farmers can plant rice up to twice a year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The Barito Kuala Food Crops and Horticulture Office recorded that in\n2025, Batola contributed 333 thousand tonnes of unhusked rice to paddy\nproduction.
