        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 Indonesia\u2019s Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah (Wamenhaj),\nDahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, has reminded all hajj officials to avoid\nexcessive use of social media, especially while on duty in the Holy\nLand. He stressed that they must always prioritise services to\nIndonesian hajj pilgrims, as their primary task is to accompany and\nprotect the pilgrims during their hajj pilgrimage. \u201cI hope that fellow\nofficials focus on their duties to accompany and safeguard the\npilgrims,\u201d said Wamenhaj Dahnil after seeing off hundreds of members of\nthe Madinah Regional Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) at the Pondok Gede\nHajj Hostel in East Jakarta on Friday (17\/4\/2026). He also touched on\nthe phenomenon of \u201cflexing\u201d or showing off activities on social media,\ndeeming such actions unnecessary for hajj officials while performing\ntheir duties, whether in Indonesia or the Holy Land. \u201cNo need to flex\nall sorts of things, showing off activities,\u201d said Dahnil. Nevertheless,\nhis side does not prohibit the use of social media altogether, as it has\nbecome a common channel for disseminating information. Therefore, Dahnil\nadvised hajj officials to utilise social media wisely and appropriately,\nnamely as a medium for da\u2019wah and educating hajj pilgrims. \u201cFor da\u2019wah,\nmeaning to inform and educate. In fact, we encourage all officials to\nconduct education via social media,\u201d he said. According to Dahnil, the\ndissemination of positive and accurate information is greatly needed,\nespecially for the families of pilgrims in Indonesia who are awaiting\nnews from the Holy Land. \u201cSo, families in the homeland need information\nthat reassures them and maintains their condition,\u201d emphasised this\nGerindra Party politician.
