Flutter of feathers fill paradise<\/p>\n
One of the most memorable stops on Langkawi is the island's bird
\nparadise. Opened a little over two years ago, the one-hectare
\npark houses some 2,500 birds representing 150 species from all
\ncorners of the world.<\/p>\n
Cockatoos of all colors parade in the cages closest to
\nentrance. Slender flamingos wade in a shallow pond with ducks,
\nwhile white peacocks rest under the shade of trees.<\/p>\n
Visitors can also walk into an aviary situated along a large
\npond and watch exotic birds like bulbuls, parrots and parakeets
\npick at slices of papaya.<\/p>\n
Pelicans stand proudly atop a manmade waterfall, while white
\nswans swim gracefully through the waters below.<\/p>\n
Other birds include the bird of paradise -- which are
\nindigenous to Indonesia -- hornbills, ostrich and cassowary.<\/p>\n
Children will get a chance to feed cockatoos and rabbits from
\ntheir hands or watch the keepers feed their pelicans and white
\nswans.<\/p>\n
Make sure you have enough time to appreciate the Langkawi Bird
\nParadise -- especially if you want to satisfy your shutterbug's
\nappetite -- as there is nothing more annoying than a tour leader
