Flower trader stabbed by mistake<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 25-year-old flower trader in Kebayoran Lama,
\nSouth Jakarta, was stabbed to death on Thursday afternoon by a
\nyouth, who mistook the victim for a teenager who had been
\nridiculing him and his gang.<\/p>\n
The victim, identified as Acip Suwarma, was stabbed from
\nbehind in his left thigh and hand and bled to death.<\/p>\n
According to his friend, Dudung Sanwani, Acip had nothing to
\ndo with the dispute between the eight gang members and the
\nteenage plastic bag trader they were chasing when the stabbing
\noccurred.<\/p>\n
Dudung quoted witnesses as saying the plastic bag vendor had
\nridiculed the gang members about their town of origin.<\/p>\n
\"They apparently could not accept this treatment. They chased
\nthe boy and then suddenly stabbed Acip without any apparent
\nreason,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Dudung, who lived together with Acip and the other local
\ntraders in a building on nearby Jl. Kramat, said the victim was
\nto marry his girlfriend, Her, 17, after the Idul Fitri holiday.<\/p>\n
\"His girlfriend fainted when we told her what happened to
\nAcip,\" Dudung said.<\/p>\n
He said that Acip would be buried in his hometown, the
\nKelangenan area in Cirebon, West Java.<\/p>\n
His body was sent to the Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital
\nfor postmortem examination. Kebayoran Lama police had not
\napprehended the youth suspected of the murder. (ivy)<\/p>",
