Water began rising\nat approximately 04:00 WITA and continued to increase until it covered\nthe entire road surface.<\/p>\n<p>Floodwater reaching adult waist height forced the closure of access\nfrom both the northern and southern directions, as vehicles were unable\nto pass through. By midday, the area remained paralysed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHeavy rain since the early hours \u2014 around 3am the water had already\nstarted rising. The rain just wouldn\u2019t stop,\u201d said a Kuta resident,\nMade, speaking at the scene on Tuesday (24\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Despite the local government having previously raised the road level,\nwater still inundated shops and restaurants. Water pumps at several\npoints were activated to accelerate the drainage of floodwater into the\nriver.<\/p>\n<p>Similar conditions occurred on Jalan Campuhan, Jalan Dewi Sri IV,\nGrand Dewi Sri, and Jalan Nakula V. Motorists were forced to turn back\nas routes towards Imam Bonjol, Sunset Road, and Jalan Raya Kuta were\ninaccessible via Dewi Sri.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you want to head towards Imam Bonjol, you have to go back around\nvia Sunset Road.
