Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Digital
(Kemkomdigi) has shared five tips that workers planning to work from
home (WFH) can implement as a precautionary measure against the impacts
of the global crisis. Director General of Digital Infrastructure at
Kemkomdigi, Wayan Toni Supriyanto, outlined several of these tips,
including setting activity priorities and upgrading service types.
“First, prioritise activities. Prioritise the use of connections for
productive needs, such as video conferences, sending digital documents,
and accessing office applications during main working hours,” said Wayan
to ANTARA on Monday. Turning off the video during video calls can also
smooth communication if there are too many participants in the digital
meeting room. The second tip recommended by Wayan to keep internet
connections smooth during WFH is for workers to manage entertainment
service traffic. Next, a tip that is actually simple but often forgotten
by home internet users is to optimise devices by placing access devices
such as modems or routers in open areas. By placing the modem or router
in a more open area, the internet signal range can usually be better
captured by devices. If available, the use of wired connections (fixed
broadband) is highly recommended for greater work stability. “If there
are ongoing technical issues, we urge the public to report them
immediately through the official channels of the operator or the
telecommunications service complaint channels provided by Kemkomdigi,”
Wayan stated. Finally, the tip for workers who want a stable internet
network during WFH is to upgrade services. Choose an internet service
package with higher speeds so that work can be completed more quickly if
the worker truly relies on connectivity to complete tasks.
",
