        "content": "<p>Five RI athletes to Paralympics<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia will send five athletes -- Imam<br>\nKuncoro, Aspen Tarihorum, Aris Kadarisman, Harsono and Hendri<br>\nNadi competing in track and field and weightlifting -- to the<br>\nParalympic Games in Sydney from Oct. 14 to Oct. 30.<\/p>\n<p>The Paralympic Sports Association (BPOC) chairman, Syamsul<br>\nMasri, said Monday that Indonesia had been preparing nine out of<br>\n45 athletes since July 20 in Bandung but due to the limited<br>\naccreditation given by the International Olympic Committee (IOC),<br>\nit could only send five athletes.<\/p>\n<p>\"In reality, we only got a quota of three but we managed to<br>\npersuade them to give us five,\" said BPOC vice chairman Sales<br>\nIsmail, as quoted by Antara.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia has never competed in the qualification round,<br>\ntherefore it only has a limited number of berths.
