        "content": "<p>Five golds hoped from powerlifting<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia expects to snatch five out of the 88<br>\ngold medals up for grabs at the world junior powerlifting<br>\nchampionships to be held in Bali next week.<\/p>\n<p>Budiono Kartohadiprodjo, executive chairman of the Indonesian<br>\nAssociation of Powerlifting, Weightlifting and Body Building<br>\n(PABBSI), told newsmen yesterday that the event is expected to be<br>\njoined by muscle men and women from 23 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Budiono, however, said that only four countries, including<br>\nIndonesia, are currently registered for the event. The three<br>\ninternational contenders are from Japan, India and Taiwan.<\/p>\n<p>The Philippines, India and South Korea, Asia&apos;s powerhouses in<br>\nthe sport are expected to submit their entry lists soon, Budiono<br>\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen Indonesian hopefuls will represent their country in<br>\nthe event due to start on June 21 at the Amphie Theater of at<br>\nNusa Dua.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The group is divided equally between the men&apos;s and women&apos;s<br>\nteams,&quot; he said as quoted by the Suara Pembaruan daily yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>He remarked that at least five gold medals should go to the<br>\nfollowing powerlifters: Agustini (67.5 kg) and Mingguriati (52<br>\nkg) for the women&apos;s contests, Komarudin (56 kg), Sutrisno (60 kg)<br>\nand Syahroni (75 kg) - the world-record holder for this class<br>\nsince last year.<\/p>\n<p>Syahroni produced the record in the world championship in<br>\nHamilton, Canada last year in which Indonesia sent three lifters<br>\nand won two golds, one by Syahroni and another by Komarudin.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We expect Syahroni to better his records,&quot; Budiono said.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the Bali event will include the bench press,<br>\nsquat, power lift and total lift.
