Five banks get sharia banking quality awards<\/p>\n

Five Islamic banks received the Sharia Banking Quality Award for
\nsuperior customer service, a press release said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The banks are Bank International Indonesia (BII) Syariah, Bank
\nDanamon Syariah, Bank Bukopin Syariah, Bank Syariah Mandiri
\n(BSM), and Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BSM).<\/p>\n
The awards, which will be handed over on April 20, 2004 here,
\nwere given based on a survey conducted by Modal, a Jakarta-based
\nsharia economic and business magazine, and the Karim Business
\nConsulting (KBC).<\/p>\n
The survey covered nine banks in eight cities on the island of
\nJava, namely Jakarta, Bandung, Cirebon, Semarang, Pekalongan,
\nYogyakarta, Surabaya and Malang. In the survey researchers posing
\nas clients interacted directly with the banks's front-liners.<\/p>\n
\"The awards were given to encourage sharia banks to improve
\ntheir performance and service so that they could compete with
\nconventional national and international conventional banks,\"
\nGuntur Subagja, Modal's chief editor, said.<\/p>\n
The recipients of the award are BII Syariah (The Best Security
\nSquad, The Best Customer Service, The Most Comfortable Service),
\nBank Danamon Syariah (The Best Teller, The Most Convenient ATM,
\nThe Most Comfortable Office), Bank Bukopin Syariah (The Best
\nOffice Equipment, The Most Comfortable Office), Bank Syariah
\nMandiri (The Best Service Quality, The Most Comfortable Musholla,
\nor prayer room), and Bank Muamalat Indonesia (The Top of Mind).<\/p>",
