        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Acting Director for Protection of Indonesian\nCitizens (PWNI) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), Heni\nHamidah, reported that the first evacuee batch of Indonesian citizens\nfrom Iran is set to arrive in Indonesia on 10 March 2026. \u2018The first\nbatch may be 9-10 March 2026,\u2019 she said at the Kemlu building in Jakarta\non Friday, 6 March 2026. However, the date is not yet certain. \u2018But we\nwill see, we will update when they arrive, because we still see which\ninternational airports are open,\u2019 she added. The government through RI\nKemlu is only evacuating Indonesians in Iran; other countries in the\nregion have not yet had evacuation plans. Heni revealed that the initial\nphase began on Friday (6 March 2026) with 32 people. \u2018Regarding Iran, as\nhas been often stated there are 329 Indonesians there, most of whom are\nin the city of Qom,\u2019 she said. Of that number, the majority are students\npursuing studies in Iran. She reported that the first phase will go via\nAzerbaijan. However, subsequent routes will be adjusted to real field\nconditions and determined by RI representatives at the Indonesian\nEmbassy in Tehran (KBRI Tehran) and the Indonesian Embassy in Baku,\nAzerbaijan. \u2018For plans for further evacuations, the Indonesian\nGovernment will decide after considering security assessments and other\naspects,\u2019 she said. \u2018Including assessments from KBRI Tehran as the Kemlu\nrepresentation that has the capability to provide the most complete\nassessments,\u2019 she added. She stated that KBRI Tehran will continue to\ncommunicate and reach out to Indonesians still in Tehran, whether\nresiding there or currently in Iran.<\/p>",
