Firm get $56m from overseas fairs<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Small and medium Indonesian enterprises and
\ncooperatives earned a combined revenue of US$56 million from
\ntheir participation in overseas trade fairs and exhibitions in
\nthe April to December period of last year, the National Agency
\nfor Export Development said.<\/p>\n
The agency, which organized the companies' participation, said
\nin a report here over the weekend that the sales revenues might
\nbe higher than the figure because not all of the companies and
\ncooperatives reported their business transactions to it.<\/p>\n
"Some 600 enterprises and cooperatives participated in 44
\ntrade fairs and exhibitions around the world, which were
\nconducted for a range between two days and 10 days each," the
\nagency said in the report, a copy of which was sent to The
\nJakarta Post.<\/p>\n
It said the host countries of the fairs and exhibitions
\nincluded Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore,
\nVietnam, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates,
\nMorocco, South Africa, Russia, Germany, Scandinavia, the
\nNetherlands, Poland, the United States, Venezuela, Chile and
\nMexico.<\/p>\n
Commodities displayed in the fairs and exhibitions included
\nleather products, household appliances, furniture, fishery
\nproducts, pharmaceuticals, giftware, garments, processed food,
\nsporting equipment, horticultural produce, handicrafts,
\nautomotive vehicles, cacao products, electronics, home
\ndecorations as well as printing and stationery products.<\/p>\n
The agency said that it will also arrange Indonesia's
\nparticipation in 11 other fairs in the January to March period of
\nthis year, in which about 85 enterprises are expected to
