Fire engulfs 10 houses<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Around 10 houses in the Karet Kuningan area of
\nSouth Jakarta were gutted by fire around Friday noon, but there
\nwere no reports of casualties.<\/p>\n
South Jakarta Fire Department sent 10 firefighter units but
\nhas yet to determine the cause of the fire, which occurred at
\n11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
The fire was finally extinguished at around 3 p.m., with
\nresidents complaining that firefighters had not responded quickly
\nenough as there were only four fire engines at the location by
\n12:45 p.m.<\/p>\n
\"The houses were homestays, and the leaseholders were mostly
\nout of town on vacation,\" Lambri Atmaja, one staff member at
\nSouth Jakarta Fire Department told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
\"We tried to get there as soon as we could,\" he said, in
\nresponse to the complaints voiced by residents. --JP<\/p>",
