At least seven fire engines were deployed to tackle a fire at a\nplastic resin processing warehouse on Jalan Raya Citarik, Jatireja\nVillage, Cikarang Timur District, Bekasi Regency, West Java, on\nSunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe deployed five units, consisting of four vehicles from the nearest\nstation and one portable unit, as well as two units from Jababeka,\u201d said\nBohir, Platoon Commander of the Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service,\nat the scene.<\/p>\n
He stated that the firefighting efforts at Jalan Raya Citarik\ninvolved 25 personnel from the Bekasi Regency Fire and Rescue Service\nand six additional personnel from the Jababeka Industrial Estate.<\/p>\n
Officers were mobilised after receiving reports from the industrial\nestate management to the Pilar Fire Station in North Cikarang, which was\nthen forwarded to the central headquarters.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe received the fire information this morning at around 06:30 WIB.\nUpon arriving at the location, black smoke was already billowing upwards\nand flames had already engulfed the warehouse building,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bohir noted that officers faced obstacles due to relatively narrow\naccess roads crowded with local residents.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were certainly difficulties, as the incident occurred in the\nmorning and many people had already gathered. The access road is quite\nnarrow, so our vehicles had to enter with difficulty,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe officers eventually managed to extinguish the fire. Thankfully,\nthere was no spread to surrounding buildings. We were able to manage it\ndespite the relatively large flames,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Officers required approximately three to four hours to extinguish the\nfire and ensure the situation at the site was under control. No\ncasualties were reported in the incident.<\/p>\n
The plastic resin processing warehouse was reported to have been\ncompletely destroyed by the fire. A truck located within the warehouse\narea was also burnt.<\/p>\n
\u201cSince there was no activity at the time, it is possible that it was\nrelated to an electrical short circuit,\u201d said Bohir.<\/p>\n
