Fire destroys Tangerang factory<\/p>\n
TANGERANG (JP): Tangerang police have yet to trace the cause
\nof the fire which destroyed a swim-suit factory on Friday.<\/p>\n
An officer who did not want to be identified said yesterday
\nthat an investigation is now underway.<\/p>\n
On Friday, a fire razed PT Kinzone International, located in
\nKadu village in the Curug sub-district. It caused estimated
\nlosses of Rp 100 million.<\/p>\n
A firefighter told The Jakarta Post that the blaze broke out
\nat around 7.00 a.m when only a few workers had arrived for work.<\/p>\n
He said the fire started in the meeting room located on the
\nsecond floor. It spread quickly to other buildings, including a
\nwarehouse where 30 sewing machines were stored, a godown and
\nanother room where raw materials were kept.<\/p>\n

The fire did not spread to the production room owing to the
\nprompt arrival of four fire engines and dozens of firefighters.<\/p>\n
They managed to put out the blaze at around 11.00.a.m.<\/p>\n
The owner of the company, Wang Ing Hag said: \"With regret I
\nhave to announce that for the time being we have been forced to
\nlay off the workers for an indefinite period.\" He added however
\nthat the workers will return to work as soon as the renovation of
\nthe factory has been completed.<\/p>\n
He did not announce whether employees would continue to be
