        "content": "<p>Fire broke out in Gandamekar, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency.\nThe Bekasi Regency Fire Department was immediately deployed to\nextinguish the flames at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The fire continued to engulf a densely populated residential area\naround 8:56 PM on Sunday (31 May) along Jalan H Mad Boich Idris in\nGandamekar.<\/p>\n<p>Several houses were seen burned to ashes, with some roofs collapsed.\nA strong burnt smell filled the air, and walls were covered in soot due\nto the intense heat. The surrounding area was plunged into darkness.<\/p>\n<p>Residents gathered and attempted to return to the affected area to\ncheck on their homes. Firefighters moved around with firefighting\nequipment, and fire engines continued to arrive.<\/p>\n<p>Fire engines kept arriving in succession, while locals crowded the\nscene, occasionally documenting the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTurn around, turn around,\u201d a man shouted, directing motorcyclists\naway from the fire zone.<\/p>\n<p>A Bekasi Regency Fire Department call centre officer confirmed the\nfire was still being extinguished.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, still being put out,\u201d said officer Said. He noted the fire was\nnear residential areas and six fire units had been deployed.<\/p>\n<p>According to Binmaspol Gandamekar officer Aiptu Giri, the fire is\nsuspected to have originated from a warehouse storing textile waste,\nknown locally as \u2018lawon\u2019 \u2013 remnants from garment industry or household\ntextiles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTextile waste warehouse (source of fire),\u201d said Binmaspol\nGandamekar\u2019s Aiptu Giri.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the cause of the fire was still under investigation.\nFirefighters were working to extinguish the flames.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s still being investigated as it happened suddenly,\u201d Giri\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>The fire broke out around 4:30 PM in the afternoon. Upon receiving\nthe report, fire crews rushed to the scene. As of now, the cause remains\nunknown, including whether there were any casualties.<\/p>",
