        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) has formulated\nthe amount of fines for digital platforms that violate the provisions in\nGovernment Regulation Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Governance of\nElectronic System Implementation in Child Protection, also known as PP\nTUNAS.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, stated that\na sanctions mechanism is necessary so that child protection obligations\nhave clear consequences for platforms that fail to implement the\nprovisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government has finalised the formulation of fines as part of the\ninstrument for enforcing compliance,\u201d Meutya said during a press\nconference at the Kemkomdigi Office, Jakarta, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>For domestic private Electronic System Providers (PSE), the maximum\nfine amount is adjusted according to the scale of the business: IDR 1\nbillion for micro-enterprises, IDR 5 billion for small enterprises, and\nIDR 10 billion for medium enterprises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe determination of business scale refers to Government Regulation\nNumber 7 of 2021,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Eight platforms have been identified from the outset as services with\nhigh-risk profiles, namely YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram,\nThreads, X, Bigo Live, and Roblox.<\/p>\n<p>The fine formulation will subsequently be submitted to the Ministry\nof Finance to be discussed with relevant ministries and established\nwithin the Government Regulation on Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP).<\/p>\n<p>Digital platforms also face the threat of blocking sanctions if they\nviolate PP Tunas, ranging from the disconnection of specific features to\nthe complete disconnection of the platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, we do not hope to implement this and hope that these\nplatforms make noticeable and significant changes within the framework\nof fulfilling existing regulations in Indonesia,\u201d said Meutya.<\/p>",
