        "content": "<p>Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) \u2014 The East Java Regional Office of the\nDirectorate General of Treasury (Kanwil DJPb) has stated that the Free\nNutritious Meal (MBG) programme has reached 9.02 million beneficiaries\nin East Java as of the end of June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government is currently very focused on the MBG programme. On\none hand, there have indeed been adjustments to the budget allocation,\u201d\nsaid Wahidin, Head of Budget Implementation Guidance (PPA) I at the East\nJava Kanwil DJPb, following a press conference in Surabaya on\nMonday.<\/p>\n<p>Wahidin said the 9.02 million beneficiaries of the MBG programme\nconsist of 7.17 million students and 1.86 million non-students.<\/p>\n<p>For its implementation, he said, the programme has been supported by\n4,420 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG), comprising 4,125 SPPGs\nalready in operation and 295 SPPGs in the preparation stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe expansion of implementation is expected to resume in the new\nacademic year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, with regard to the budget, Wahidin said his office is\nstill awaiting the central government\u2019s decision on the MBG programme\nallocation for East Java, following an adjustment that saw it reduced to\nRp229 trillion from the previous Rp268 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, some time ago Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said\nthere remains potential for further budget savings if the proposal to\nexclude children from well-off families as MBG beneficiaries is\nrealised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government itself also considers that what was done previously\ndid require adjustment or adaptation, so that the programme truly\nreaches its intended targets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, he assured that the MBG programme continues to be\nimplemented in accordance with regulations, with very positive progress\nto date.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn essence, the government\u2019s aim of providing MBG continues to be\ncarried out, and we see that developments so far have been very\npositive,\u201d said Wahidin.<\/p>",
