The video was uploaded via a\nTikTok account named Bantuan Dana Hibah. The Ministry of Finance\u2019s\nInformation and Documentation Management Officer (PPID) team has\nclarified that the video is a hoax utilising deep fake technology. \u201cThe\npublic is urged to be wary of the dissemination of false videos and news\nimpersonating the Finance Minister,\u201d the PPID team stated via its social\nmedia account, as quoted on Monday (11\/5\/2026). Previously, the Ministry\nof Finance encountered a hoax implicating the General Secretariat of the\nMinistry of Finance. Last year, a message circulated on the WhatsApp\napplication from a sender impersonating the Secretary General of the\nMinistry of Finance, then held by Heru Pambudi.
