Finance Minister Purbaya Yudha Sadewa has confirmed that two echelon\nI officials in the Ministry of Finance, namely Febrio Kacaribu and Luky\nAlfirman, have been removed from their positions. Febrio previously\nserved as Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, while Luky\nserved as Director General of Budget.<\/p>\n
The two echelon I positions are now filled by acting daily executors\n(Plh) and have been effective since Tuesday, 21 April 2026. \u201cActing\nheads have already been appointed. They became active yesterday, signed\nyesterday afternoon,\u201d the Finance Minister told reporters at the\nCoordinating Ministry for the Economy office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 22\nApril 2026.<\/p>\n
Purbaya did not provide reasons why the two director generals were\ndismissed from their positions. Purbaya also has not yet determined what\npositions Febrio and Luky will occupy in the future. \u201cThey will rest\nfirst, then we will find suitable places for them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Previously, Purbaya had also replaced Masyita Crystallin from her\nposition as Director General of Financial Stability and Sector\nDevelopment. Masyita\u2019s position was taken over by Herman Saheruddin as\nacting head (Plt).<\/p>\n
The State Treasurer explained that the names to fill the three\ndirector general positions will be submitted to President Prabowo\nSubianto in May. \u201cThey will be submitted to the President at once,\npossibly early or mid-May,\u201d Purbaya said.<\/p>\n
Career Paths of the Two Removed Director Generals<\/p>\n
Quoting the official Ministry of Finance website, Febrio Kacaribu was\ninaugurated as Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) on 3 April 2020.\nHis areas of expertise include Economics & Business Projections,\nEconomic Models, Financial Economics, Monetary Economics, and Public\nPolicy Analysis.<\/p>\n
Febrio held that position until the BKF officially transformed into\nthe Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy (Ditjen SEF). He\nled the directorate after being inaugurated by Finance Minister\n2005-2010 and 2016-September 2025, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, on 23 May\n2025.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Luky Alfirman began his career at the Ministry of Finance\non 1 March 1995 as an employee in the Directorate General of Taxation.\nIn September 2015, Luky was assigned as Head of the Centre for Policy\nAnalysis and Harmonisation, General Secretariat, for the Finance\nMinister. On 28 July 2017, he was inaugurated as Special Staff for State\nRevenue Policy.<\/p>\n
Luky was then trusted as Director General of Financing and Risk\nManagement on 30 November 2017. He also served as Director General of\nFinancial Balance since 1 November 2022.
