Jakarta \u2014 Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa delivered a\nreassuring message to traders at Tanah Abang market whilst conducting an\ninspection of commercial activity in the area ahead of the 2026 Lebaran\nholiday.<\/p>\n
During the visit, Purbaya expressed his desire to shop for\ntraditional koko shirts, prayer caps, and sarongs. After entering one\ntrader\u2019s stall, he was seen trying on a sage-green koko shirt, complete\nwith a two-piece trouser set.<\/p>\n
In the process, Purbaya conveyed an important message to traders,\nstating he would ensure grassroots economic growth, particularly amongst\nretail merchants. \u201cThat\u2019s why I ask for your support. We will continue\nto drive the economy, regardless of what others say, we\u2019ll push economic\ngrowth from below so it advances further and grows stronger,\u201d Purbaya\nsaid at Tanah Abang, Jakarta, on Monday (9 March 2026).<\/p>\n
During the visit, Purbaya also urged traders not to worry about the\ncurrent economic conditions. \u201cI\u2019ve only been in office for five months,\nso don\u2019t be afraid, within a year things will definitely be different,\u201d\nhe stated.<\/p>\n
