        "content": "<p>PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry projects that passenger movements through its\nferry services during the 2026 Eid holiday transport period will reach\napproximately 5.8 million passengers and 1.4 million vehicles across\nmajor routes throughout Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>This figure represents an increase compared to the same period in the\nprevious year. Passenger movements are estimated to rise by\napproximately 9.4 per cent, whilst the number of vehicles is projected\nto increase by 9.3 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>The Director of Operations and Transformation at ASDP, Rio Lasse,\nstated that the anticipated surge in mobility has been addressed through\nvarious operational preparations to ensure ferry services remain optimal\nduring the Eid holiday period.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the Eid transport period represents an important\nopportunity for ferry services due to increased population movement as\ncitizens return to their hometowns.<\/p>\n<p>According to Rio during the Media Gathering on Preparations for 2026\nEid Transport, the company ensures all operational elements have been\nwell prepared, ranging from fleet readiness to facility quality and\nservices at ports.<\/p>\n<p>Nationally, ASDP currently operates 320 ferry routes comprising 91\ncommercial routes and 229 pioneer routes. These operations are supported\nby 222 vessels operating through 37 ports managed by 27 branches.<\/p>\n<p>The Java\u2013Sumatra Route Remains the Busiest<\/p>\n<p>The Sunda Strait route connecting Java and Sumatra is projected to\nremain the busiest route during the Eid period.<\/p>\n<p>On the Merak Port to Bakauheni Port route, the number of passengers\nis projected to reach 1.56 million people with approximately 371,000\nvehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the return flow from Sumatra to Java is estimated to reach\n1.51 million passengers with approximately 353,000 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>For the Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port route, the number of\npassengers is predicted to reach more than 805,000 people with 217,000\nvehicles. Meanwhile, the reverse flow from Bali to Java is estimated to\nreach 869,000 passengers with approximately 248,000 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Enhanced Facilities and Strengthened Coordination<\/p>\n<p>To anticipate the surge in holiday travellers, ASDP strengthens\noperational readiness through various measures, including the addition\nof an express berth II on the Merak\u2013Bakauheni route, 24-hour customer\nservice, provision of portable toilets, and improved lighting in port\nareas.<\/p>\n<p>Coordination with various stakeholders is also strengthened through\nthe implementation of a delaying system in buffer zones, implementation\nof geofencing, and the diversion of vehicle flows through alternative\nports.<\/p>\n<p>Introducing Child-Friendly Holiday Travel Programme<\/p>\n<p>Amidst the high mobility of holiday travellers, ASDP also provides a\nmore family-friendly travel experience through the \u201cChild-Friendly Eid\nHoliday: Festive Season 2026\u201d programme.<\/p>\n<p>The programme, developed in cooperation with Dongeng Academy,\nfeatures kids corners at Merak and Bakauheni Ports from seven days\nbefore to seven days after Eid.<\/p>\n<p>These family-friendly areas are equipped with various educational\nactivities such as mini playgrounds, board games, reading spaces, and\ncreative activities for children. Additionally, goodie bags,\nchild-friendly snacks, and interactive activity books are available to\naccompany passengers during their waiting periods.<\/p>\n<p>Fare Discounts and Appeal to Purchase Tickets Online<\/p>\n<p>As part of support for government policy, ASDP is implementing a 100\nper cent subsidy on port service charges on certain routes and ports for\npedestrians and regular Class II and Class IVA vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>ASDP\u2019s Finance Director, Bunga H. Oktaviyanti, stated that the\nsubsidy aims to help the public make their holiday travel more\naffordable whilst supporting smooth mobility during the Eid period.<\/p>\n<p>She emphasised that the company\u2019s primary priority is ensuring\noperational readiness, maritime safety, and service quality remain\nmaintained.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, ASDP Corporate Secretary Windy Andale urged the public to\npurchase tickets in advance through the Ferizy application.<\/p>\n<p>Windy stressed that there are no ticket sales at ports. She also\nreminded the public to avoid unauthorised ticket sellers and ensure\npersonal data is filled in accurately according to identity documents to\nensure more orderly and smooth travel.<\/p>",
