Feri Amsari, a constitutional law expert from Andalas University, has\nrevealed that his family has fallen victim to doxing terror on social\nmedia. Feri disclosed this during a press conference at the Indonesian\nLegal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) office in Jakarta on Friday, 5 June\n2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family and I have recently been doxed. Information regarding my\nwife and children has been published by individuals whom I suspect to be\nbuzzers,\u201d said Feri Amsari.<\/p>\n
Feri stated that the doxing was carried out by buzzers accompanied by\nthreatening language directed at his family, causing significant\ndistress. The terror included threats that his wife and children would\nbecome victims.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe language used was, \u2018You don\u2019t know yet that your wife and\nchildren will become victims,\u2019\u201d Feri noted.<\/p>\n
Feri argued that the state should guarantee protection for the\nfreedom to express ideas. He explained that, on a constitutional\nprinciple, the public holds sovereignty, and as such, the public must be\nprovided with the space to express their opinions freely.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat is why the guarantee to express opinions and thoughts is\nconstitutionally protected, without any actual limitations on the\nguarantee to convey opinions and thoughts,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Feri, alongside other prominent figures, held the press conference to\nrespond to the terror and intimidation faced by civil society.
