        "content": "<p>The BRICS Industrial Innovation Contest for this year was officially\nopened on 7 May 2026. This competition marks the practical\nimplementation stage of innovative cooperation between China and\nIndonesia under the BRICS Partnership for the New Industrial Revolution\nframework.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s competition is themed \u2018Innovation and Development in\nBRICS: Accelerating the New Industrial Revolution\u2019, focusing on four\nmain development areas in Indonesia: artificial intelligence (AI), green\nindustry, low altitude technology, and energy electronics. The\ncompetition attracted nearly 100 projects from Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>After initial screening, 52 outstanding teams advanced to the direct\npresentation stage. Winning projects will directly proceed to the global\nfinal in Xiamen.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is organised by the International Economic and\nTechnological Cooperation Centre of China\u2019s Ministry of Industry and\nInformation Technology, and implemented by China-DATANG Corporation\nOverseas Investment Co., Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>The competition also receives full support from Indonesian ministries\nsuch as the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming\/BKPM, Ministry of\nIndustry, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), as well as the\nIndonesian Chinese Association (INTI), China Chamber of Commerce in\nIndonesia, and General Technology BRICS (Xiamen) Investment Development\nCo., Ltd.<\/p>\n<p>According to a written statement on Saturday (9\/5\/2026), Jia Bingjun,\nDirector of the International Business Department of China Datang\nCorporation Limited, stated that Indonesia is a key overseas development\ncountry for China Datang Corporation.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, the company will continue to increase the scale of\ninvestments in Indonesia, create more job opportunities for local\ncommunities, and train more professionals in the energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>Through this competition, China Datang hopes to use the event as a\nbridge to connect innovative resources from China and Indonesia, help\nIndonesian innovation projects access capital, technology, and\ninternational markets, jointly promote the development of industrial\ninnovation in both countries, and support the construction of the BRICS\nPartnership for the New Industrial Revolution.<\/p>\n<p>Cahyo Purnomo, Director of Regional Promotion at the Ministry of\nInvestment and Industrial Downstreaming (BKPM), stated that Indonesia is\nin a key stage to accelerate the new industrial revolution and greatly\nneeds advanced technology and innovative concepts.<\/p>\n<p>The four tracks of this competition are core areas that are currently\npriorities for Indonesia\u2019s development. He hopes that through this\ncompetition, more outstanding local innovation projects can be\nunearthed, while attracting more technology and investment from China,\njointly promoting the upgrading of Indonesia\u2019s industries and supporting\nthe realisation of the national vision of \u2018Golden Indonesia 2045\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>The competition invites 10 leading experts from Indonesia and\nglobally as judges, covering various fields such as cross-border\ninvestment, artificial intelligence, energy transition, low-altitude\neconomy, and innovation incubation.<\/p>\n<p>They will conduct professional evaluations of the participating\nprojects from seven dimensions, including technological innovation,\nindustrial implementation capability, and low-carbon green aspects, and\nultimately select two outstanding projects from each track to be\nrecommended to the Global Final in Xiamen.<\/p>\n<p>The BRICS Industrial Innovation Competition is an important activity\nto implement the partnership, playing an active role in promoting\npractical cooperation among BRICS countries.<\/p>\n<p>The successful opening of this competition signifies that Indonesia,\nas the first BRICS member from Southeast Asia, is deeply participating\nin global industrial governance with innovation as the focus.<\/p>",
