        "content": "<p>Fees at Haulussy Hospital upped<\/p>\n<p>AMBON, Maluku: Maluku governor Albert Karel Rahalalu has decided <br>\nto increase hospital fees at Dr. Haulussy Hospital, Ambon&apos;s main <br>\nhospital, an official said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Jopi Manuputty, the director of Dr. Haulussy Hospital, said <br>\nthat the fee hike, which took effect on Saturday, would include, <br>\namong others, service and admission costs. The fees are to be <br>\nincreased by between 100 percent and 200 percent.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The cost of healthcare at Haulussy hospital was among the <br>\nlowest when compared to other main hospitals nationwide,&quot; Jopi <br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the increase was also aimed at raising <br>\nrevenue for the Maluku provincial administration, which operates <br>\nthe hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Jopi said that, last year, the hospital reaped a net profit of <br>\nRp 505 million (US$63,125), while this year its target is Rp 595 <br>\nmillion. He promised that the hospital would improve its services <br>\nin line with the fee hike.<\/p>\n<p>Haulussy Hospital currently has 353 beds, 543 employees, 11 <br>\ngeneral practitioners, 10 specialist doctors, three dentists, 337 <br>\nnurses and six pharmacists. -- Antara<\/p>\n<p>;JP;ASA;<br>\nANPAa..r..<br>\nAcross-Batam<br>\nLanding strips to be leased<br>\nJP\/5\/ACROSS<\/p>\n<p>Landing strips to be leased<\/p>\n<p>BATAM: Air Hongkong, a Hongkong-based airline company, is set to <br>\nrent landing strips at Hang Nadim Airport in Batam so that its <br>\npilots can be trained there.<\/p>\n<p>Dwi Djoko Wiwoho, the spokesman of Batam Industrial <br>\nDevelopment Authority -- which oversees the running of the <br>\nairport -- said on Saturday that the agreement to lease the <br>\nlanding strips had been inked in a memorandum of understanding <br>\nbetween Batam Industrial Development Authority and Air Hongkong <br>\non Wednesday last week.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The agreement will take effect on Nov. 8,&quot; said Djoko, adding <br>\nthat the contract will last for five years, until 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Under the contract, Air Hongkong will be allowed to use the <br>\nlanding strips for training purposes only. The airline will be <br>\ncharged 25 percent of the fees paid by commercial airplanes each <br>\ntime a plane lands. The landing fee for commercial planes is <br>\ncurrently US$1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Hang Nadim airport, which was built in 1990, boasts the <br>\nlongest landing strip in Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the airport only serves domestic flight for six  <br>\nairlines, namely Garuda Indonesian Airways, Bouraq, Jatayu, Lion, <br>\nMandala and Merpati Airlines. -- JP<\/p>",
