Fedex service<\/p>\n
This is the second time I have had an unpleasant experience
\nwith Federal Express in Jakarta. Last September, I wanted to send
\nsome documents to London. A Fedex staff told me that it would
\ncost US$37.5, so I bought dollars. I was surprised that Fedex did
\nnot have dollars for my change. They insisted I should pay in
\nrupiah. I did not want to, because I would lose money changing my
\ndollars back to rupiah.<\/p>\n
Following a long debate they finally agreed to my paying in
\ndollars. But I had to wait for three days to get my $2.5 change.<\/p>\n
Then I had to send something to Asia Week, a Hong Kong client,
\nalso with Fedex. On Oct. 6, at about 4:00 p.m. I went to the
\nFedex office on Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio, thinking that they would be
\nopen 24 hours a day as advertised. To my amazement, there was
\nnobody there, not even a security guard. I found only a mechanic.<\/p>\n
Obviously I was very annoyed. At 7 p.m. I sent my staff to
\nFedex, but there was still nobody there. Asia Week phoned me in
\nthe morning, asking about the document they should have received
\non Oct. 8 at around noon. My client was very disappointed with
\nme. They had an impression that I lacked professionalism, without
\nknowing the real state of affairs.<\/p>\n
