Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The Indonesian National Police\u2019s Anti-Corruption\nCorps (Kortastipidkor) has spoken out following plans by the camp of\nformer Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie\nAdriansyah to file pre-trial motions challenging the handling of the\ncase that has ensnared him.<\/p>\n
Kortastipidkor asserted it is ready to face the legal steps,\nincluding motions relating to the investigation process carried out by\nthe joint police team before the case was eventually transferred to the\nAttorney General\u2019s Office (Kejakagung).<\/p>\n
Head of Operations at Kortastipidkor Polri, Police Grand Commissioner\nAhmad Yusuf Afandi, said his institution has no issue with the lawsuit\nplanned by Febrie\u2019s legal team.<\/p>\n
\u201cKortastipidkor Polri is ready to face these pre-trial motions,\u201d\nYusuf said when contacted on Tuesday, 4 August 2026.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Yusuf declined to comment further on the substance of\nthe motions. According to him, the pre-trial mechanism is a legal right\nthat may be exercised when an interested party perceives irregularities\nin the law enforcement process.<\/p>\n
He also reminded that the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) clearly\nregulates who is entitled to file pre-trial motions.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo in principle, the pre-trial procedural law is intended for people\nor parties who have a direct legal interest and connection to the object\nof that pre-trial,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
As previously reported, the legal team of former Deputy Attorney\nGeneral for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah is preparing new legal\nsteps to challenge the investigation process carried out by law\nenforcement officials.<\/p>\n
Not content with one, they plan to file two separate pre-trial\nmotions directed at the Attorney General\u2019s Office and the National\nPolice.<\/p>\n
The move is intended to test the validity of several legal actions in\nthe alleged money laundering (TPPU) and alleged corruption case that\ncurrently ensnares Febrie.<\/p>\n
Febrie\u2019s lawyer, Firman Wijaya, said the first motion will be\ndirected at the actions of the Attorney General\u2019s Office regarding the\nsuspect designation through to his client\u2019s detention in the alleged\nmoney laundering case.<\/p>\n
