Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes
(Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah claims he is being criminalised after
being named a suspect in an alleged money laundering (TPPU) case.

Febrie, when met at the Main Building of the Attorney General’s
Office in Jakarta on Friday, revealed that he had been examined as a
suspect and immediately placed under detention.

However, he assessed that the evidence submitted by the examining
prosecutors still needs to be examined further or confirmed
beforehand.

According to Febrie, naming him a suspect and detaining him should
have been carried out only after the evidence had been confirmed and the
case exposed through multiple presentations.

“In my view, this is not sufficient grounds for detention. At the
Round Building (Jampidsus), it was never done like this,” he said.

He also said he felt criminalised. Nevertheless, he respects the
decision that has been handed down.

“This has become a decision of the leadership. I am prepared to face
it, and I do feel this is criminalisation,” he said.

Based on ANTARA’s observation on Friday, Febrie exited the Main
Building of the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta at around 11pm
Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

He was seen wearing batik clothing and his hands were not
handcuffed.

On Friday, Febrie underwent questioning as a witness in the alleged
TPPU case.

This was the second summons after he failed to answer a summons on
Wednesday (22 July) due to health reasons.

Previously, the investigation team at the Attorney General’s Office,
known as Team 9, issued a new investigation order (sprindik) for the
alleged TPPU case. The new sprindik, numbered Print-03/F.2/Fd.2/07/2026,
was issued on 20 July 2026.

Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre Anang
Supriatna said the new sprindik was issued after the Attorney General’s
Office received the case files plus 74 kilogrammes of gold in evidence
and foreign currency worth hundreds of billions of rupiah from the
National Police (Polri).

The Attorney General’s Office has also issued three other sprindiks
after receiving the transfer of cases from Polri as a form of law
enforcement synergy. First, sprindik number 43 concerning alleged
corruption and money laundering at PT KNI.

Second, sprindik number 44 concerning alleged corruption in coal
governance at coal-fired power plants (PLTU), which is suspected to have
triggered the electricity blackout.

Finally, sprindik number 45 relating to alleged corruption and money
laundering in the handling of the PT Asabri case.
",
