        "content": "<p>The IM57+ Institute has voiced scepticism over the transfer of the\nalleged corruption case involving former Junior Attorney General for\nSpecial Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah to the Attorney General\u2019s\nOffice (Kejagung). The institute doubts the AGO\u2019s ability to\nprofessionally investigate its own former high-ranking official. \u201cThe\npublic will certainly be sceptical about this continued law enforcement\neffort being handled by the Attorney General\u2019s Office. This doubt is\nreasonable because how can the institution (in this case the special\ncrimes division) act objectively when investigating its former superior\nwho once served as Jampidsus,\u201d said IM57+ Institute Chairman Lakso\nAnindito on Saturday (11\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Lakso therefore demanded that the AGO demonstrate a very serious\ncommitment to answering public doubt. The way to do this, according to\nLakso, is to enforce the law in this case completely and thoroughly.\n\u201cWithout a resolution, this will set a bad precedent that the Attorney\nGeneral\u2019s Office is incapable of resolving cases involving its own\nmembers. The KPK has previously handled cases involving its own\npersonnel thoroughly,\u201d Lakso stated.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, Lakso analysed the potential for this case to be taken\nover by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He cited the\nprovisions of Article 8 paragraph (2) of the KPK Law, which grants the\nKPK the right to take over case handling when an investigation stalls or\ndrags on without clear reason. \u201cThere needs to be clear support and\ninstructions for the KPK to take over if there is a lack of clarity in\nthe handling,\u201d he said. Lakso expressed hope that the AGO would be\nwilling to step aside if it ultimately encounters obstacles in\ninvestigating the case involving its former senior official. \u201cThe\nAttorney General\u2019s Office must be cooperative when it is unable to\nhandle the case thoroughly so that the KPK can take over. This is a\nmandate from the Law,\u201d Lakso concluded.<\/p>",
