Jakarta (ANTARA) - Adviser to the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of\nthe Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), Fatma Saifullah Yusuf, met\nwith students of Integrated People\u2019s School (SRT) 3 in South Lampung\nRegency, Lampung Province, on Wednesday (12\/8) to provide motivation to\nthe pupils.<\/p>\n
The visit was part of enlivening the 81st Anniversary of the Republic\nof Indonesia. At the school, red-and-white themed decorations adorned\nthe school hall.<\/p>\n
The school, in cooperation with the Directorate of Child Social\nRehabilitation and the Inten Soeweno Integrated Centre (STIS), organised\na Freedom Festival to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Republic\nof Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Fatma\u2019s arrival with the Kemensos DWP entourage was warmly welcomed\nwith singing and small Indonesian flags held by each pupil. The children\nalso performed a traditional Lampung dance.<\/p>\n
On the occasion, Fatma conveyed that the Indonesian independence\nenjoyed today is the result of the long struggle of the nation\u2019s heroes.\nThat struggle aimed to ensure that the next generation lives better, one\nof which is enjoying the opportunity to receive an education.<\/p>\n
Fatma also invited the SRT 3 Lampung pupils to fill independence with\npositive activities, such as studying diligently and doing good to\nothers.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur task now is to fill the independence of the Republic of\nIndonesia (RI) with positive things. For children, one way to fill this\nindependence is with what? By studying. Studying earnestly, respecting\nothers, maintaining friendships,\u201d said Fatma before 401 pupils of SRT 3\nLampung.<\/p>\n
The free school programme initiated by President Prabowo Subianto not\nonly educates students academically but also shapes better\ncharacter.<\/p>\n

At the People\u2019s School, various facilities and infrastructure are\navailable to support pupils\u2019 activities, ranging from classrooms,\nlaboratories, and libraries to fields for various sports activities. The\npupils\u2019 food and nutrition are also well attended to.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe message is that children must study diligently. The content is\njust study, study, study. And seek knowledge here well, so that you\nbecome successful children,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
In addition, Fatma also advised all students not to be afraid of\nhaving high aspirations, because everyone has the same opportunity to\nlive successfully.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause every child has the opportunity to be great. And the most\nimportant thing is the willingness to learn and to strive. Do not give\nup easily and always maintain good attitude and morals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cChildren are not only about providing education, but also about\nbuilding a safe and comfortable environment. And we must provide support\nso that our children can become confident individuals and provide hope\nfor the future,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
The Freedom Festival event was filled with various competitions,\nranging from cracker-eating contests, balloon dancing, to marble relay\nraces.<\/p>\n
Fatma and the Kemensos DWP entourage also gave a number of prizes to\npupils who successfully answered questions about the Republic of\nIndonesia\u2019s anniversary correctly.<\/p>\n
Students from elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels\nlooked very enthusiastic in answering the various questions given.<\/p>\n
