        "content": "<p>A fatal crash involving a container lorry, a Honda Brio, and two\nmotorcycles occurred on the Surabaya-Mojokerto highway in\nBakungtemenggungan, Balongbendo District, Sidoarjo Regency, on Wednesday\nmorning. The tragic incident resulted in two motorcyclists dying at the\nscene. The deceased victims have been identified as Rizal Afifudin, a\nresident of Wringinpitu, Mojokerto Regency, and Sugito, a resident of\nBalongbendo, Sidoarjo Regency. Both victims succumbed to severe injuries\nsustained in the impact. The chronology began when a container lorry\ndriven by Nanang, a resident of Mojoagung, Jombang, was travelling from\nSurabaya towards Mojokerto. Upon reaching the location, a Honda Brio was\napproaching from the opposite direction. The driver of the Brio is\nsuspected to have been severely drowsy, causing the car to suddenly\nswerve to the right and enter the lorry\u2019s path. \u2018Initially, the Brio\nwent straight to the right and hit my vehicle, then swerved left and\nright again, but couldn\u2019t recover and crashed into the wall. The Brio\ndriver was drowsy,\u2019 said Nanang, the lorry driver, at the scene. Seeing\nthe Brio enter his lane, Nanang instinctively swerved the steering wheel\nto the right to avoid a head-on collision. However, the emergency\nmanoeuvre caused the lorry to lose control. The container lorry then\nstruck two motorcycles travelling nearby before finally coming to a halt\nafter crashing through a resident\u2019s fence by the roadside, destroying\nit. Officers arriving at the scene promptly evacuated the bodies of\nRizal and Sugito to the mortuary of Anwar Medika Hospital in Krian,\nSidoarjo. Meanwhile, Nanang, the lorry driver, sustained only a leg\ninjury and was immediately taken into custody by the police for further\nquestioning. The traffic accident case is currently being handled by the\nTraffic Accident Unit of the Sidoarjo Regional Police. Officers are\nconducting an in-depth investigation to determine the primary cause of\nthe crash. All vehicles involved, including the container lorry and the\nHonda Brio, have been secured as evidence for the investigation process.\nThe case was officially reported to the Sidoarjo police on 26 March 2026\nunder police report number LP\/B\/88\/3\/2026\/SPKT\/Polresta Sidoarjo.<\/p>",
