        "content": "<p>Farmers greet delayed cloud seeding<\/p>\n<p>TEMANGGUNG, Central Java: Tobacco farmers are happy with the<br>\ngovernment's decision to delay cloud seeding in the province, a<br>\nfarmer association leader said here on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The chairman of the Tobacco Farmers and Traders Association in<br>\nTemanggung, Iriyanto, said rains resulting from cloud seeding<br>\nwould disrupt farmers, who are currently harvesting their crops.<\/p>\n<p>Cloud seeding was to have been conducted in Wonogiri and<br>\nSukoharjo, the most drought-ridden regencies in the province.<\/p>\n<p>There are 17,932 hectares of tobacco plantations across 12<br>\ndistricts in Temanggung, with annual production estimated at<br>\n17,654 tons.<\/p>\n<p>The quality of tobacco depends on the climate during<br>\nharvesting. The best quality tobacco sold at Rp 30,000 per<br>\nkilogram last year.<\/p>\n<p>The regent of Temanggung, Sarjono, revealed weather conditions<br>\nwere currently favorable for tobacco farmers to harvest their<br>\nhighest quality tobacco and hoped that such weather would prevail<br>\nuntil September. --Antara<\/p>",
