Pancasila is not merely the state foundation but a living ideology\ndeeply rooted in the long journey of Nusantara civilisation. Although\nthe official formulation of Pancasila was first delivered by Bung Karno\non 1 June 1945, its values have long been embedded in Indonesian culture\nand society.<\/p>\n
\u201cPancasila has emerged from the roots of our nation\u2019s life. These\nvalues form the foundation of national and state life to this day,\u201d said\nBandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan during the 2026 Pancasila Day\ncommemoration ceremony at Bandung City Hall Plaza on Monday (1\nJune).<\/p>\n
Under the theme \u201cPancasila: Unifier of the Nation, Foundation of\nWorld Peace\u201d, the event served as a moment to reaffirm national\ncommitment, unity, and tolerance amidst societal diversity. Farhan\nbelieves Pancasila has proven to be a guiding star for Indonesia in\nfacing global challenges.<\/p>\n
Amidst global uncertainty, inter-state conflicts, and rapid social\nchanges, Pancasila remains a moral anchor guiding the nation\u2019s\ncourse.<\/p>\n
\u201cPancasila is a moral anchor of humanity in confronting global\nturbulence that significantly impacts our values and norms. It is also\nan eternal guide for the Indonesian nation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
According to Farhan, Indonesia has played a crucial role in\nmaintaining regional stability and peace. This spirit is a concrete\nimplementation of Pancasila\u2019s second principle, Just and Civilised\nHumanity.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to see the world become a better place. Peace is not merely\nthe absence of war but the presence of justice for all humanity,\u201d he\nstated.<\/p>\n
However, Farhan reminded that justice is not only a global issue.\nJustice must also be realised in daily life through equitable\ndistribution of development benefits, economic progress, and\ntechnological advancements for all citizens. He argued that all progress\nmust be guided by Pancasila\u2019s moral values to prevent social disparities\nand deviations in national life.<\/p>\n
\u201cEconomic and technological progress must be fairly and evenly\nexperienced by all Bandung residents,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n
On the occasion of Pancasila Day, Farhan also urged the youth to\nembrace Pancasila as a living ideology in their thoughts and daily\nactions. He cautioned that Pancasila\u2019s noble values should not merely be\nslogans or decorative words but truly embodied in social, national, and\nstate life.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet us reaffirm our national commitment. Let us show the world that\nIndonesia is a great nation upholding humanitarian values and unity,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
Farhan also called on all citizens to maintain unity and adopt\nPancasila as a guideline in every step of national development.\n\u201cIndonesian blood flows in our veins.
