In the IPB Podcast programme on the IPB TV YouTube channel, Prof Euis\nexplains that the idea of family-friendly development stems from a long\nacademic journey. She highlights that ideally, development should\nculminate in resilient, prosperous, and quality families.<\/p>\n

She identifies several latent factors that continue to threaten\nfamily resilience in Indonesia, ranging from economic pressures,\npoverty, social vulnerabilities, to threats against the growth and\ndevelopment of children and adolescents.<\/p>\n
Prof Euis emphasises that every government policy, whether explicitly\ntargeting families or not, certainly has an impact on the quality of\ndomestic life. Tax policies, labour regulations, wage systems, education\ncurricula, and industrial directions have direct or indirect\nimplications.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the integration of cross-sectoral policies becomes crucial\nto avoid overlaps or conflicts that could harm families.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll parties must consider that their policies and programmes will\nimpact families, so they must seek what is best for families to carry\nout their roles and functions,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n
One crucial issue highlighted is the mental health of the younger\ngeneration. Based on the data she presented, there is a great urgency to\ncarry out comprehensive interventions for Indonesian adolescents.<\/p>\n
